Kids in the Sand

There’s no shortage of family friendly activities in Beach Haven. Aside from the obvious day at the beach, there are plenty of other options. One of our favorites (our kids’ favorite anyway) is a trip to Thundering Surf Waterpark. It may look small but there’s plenty to do for kids and adults. They have a little splash park with toddler sized slides and fountains, a slightly larger area for older kids with dumping bucket, sprayers and a variety of medium sized slides. There’s the crazy/lazy river (sometimes there are sprayers and bucket dumps) if you want to keep cool and relax, or take a run down their brand new racing slides. That brings us to the most exciting parts….the big tube slides (there are 6 of them) and the “Flow House” artificial surf wave. Both are loads of fun for kids AND adults. Definitely give Thundering Surf a try. And after you are done, they have two of the best/nicest miniature golf courses on the island right there on site called “Settler’s Mill Adventure Golf”.

For those unfortunate rainy days, Fantasy Island arcade is the go-to choice. Pinball, skeeball, video games, games of chance, you name it. Loads of fun to take your mind off the weather. When it clears up, head outside to Fantasy Island Amusement Park. They have some great rides especially for the younger kids, but maybe not so thrilling for your teenagers. Definitely hit the Friday night all-you-can-ride deal from 4-7pm. Get there right at 4 as it gets crowded the later you go.
